MOCA Summer Art Camp

MOCA Taipei organized a series of summer camps with body and writing as theme. With the concept of learning through fun, the children were given new artistic experiences in which they were re-introduced to the world of museums through a unique perspective. The museum expects that such a perspective will gradually become part of the children’s creative source and motivation. In July, the museum organized the summer camp “The Grand Adventures within Words,” using writing as a theme to coincide with the exhibition “X beyond O: Calligraphy – Sign – Space.” Through this summer camp, children exercised writing through different visual, auditory, and tactile perspectives. In August, the summer camp “Invisible Walls, Visible Hands” used the performance art of mime as a theme. Through this summer camp, the children learned and practiced the techniques of miming, which increased the recognition of their bodies’ expressive capabilities. Furthermore, the summer camp encouraged the children to collaborate as a group, thus developing physical and mental interaction skills.
